The Playful and Powerful Scorpion
Please join Sam Rice for this 3-week backbending series. The peak pose of this series will be vrishchikasana (scorpion pose.) We will play with different backbends and inversions all along the way. Regardless of whether you achieve scorpion pose, you will learn tools and tips to skillfully deepen your backbend practice. Enjoy intelligent sequencing, humor, hard work, and great company.
Recommended pre-requisties for this course:
Pushing up into urdhva dhanurasana (upward bow) with straight arms, adho mukha vrksasana (handstand) and/or pinca mayurasana (forearm stand), an open mind, and respect for the boundaries of your body.
Sam Rice, E-RYT 500, is a dedicated student and practitioner of yoga first and foremost. This fuels her passion for teaching. Sam has been teaching yoga since 2006. She teaches classes, workshops, and teacher trainings both locally (Tucson, AZ) and nationally. Sam is known for her diligent and detailed alignment instructions, that are delivered with great skill, passion, and humor, offering students the opportunity to find renewed depth in practice.
