Braving the Blank Page—A Yoga of the Written Word
with Christina Sell, Mary Angelon Young, and Regina Sara Ryan
@ YogaOasis | Tucson, AZ
Always wanted to write, but afraid of the blank page?
Unsure what to do next?
Stuck somewhere in the process?
Ever dreamed of completing a memoir, book, or novel?
This year-long program will fuel your creative fires and offer practical tools to help you get started or continue from wherever you are now. Facilitated by published authors steeped in writing as a tool for personal transformation, both new and experienced writers will find support and good company for the yoga of the written word plied in whatever form calls to you—be it books, memoirs, journals, letters, or blogs.
Each morning we will begin with a period of chanting, meditation, and journal writing followed by an all-levels asana session with Christina Sell. Afternoons will provide time for writing exercises, discussion, Q&A, and small group sharing. Each day will end with chanting and a period of quiet, personal contemplation.
The course is divided into the three sessions, over the course of ten months. The sessions are progressive and build on one another to encourage a process of personal growth and integration. Participants will have access to an online forum and occasional web-based discussions between sessions for support and community.
Daily Schedule Each Session:
Christina Sell is the author of Yoga From the Inside Out: Making Peace with Your Body Through Yoga, My Body is a Temple: Yoga as a Path to Wholeness, and A Deeper Yoga: Beyond Body Image to Wholeness and Freedom. Christina is passionate about helping students find direct access to their inner wisdom through a variety of yogic practices and personal growth techniques.
