Unwind with the *Full* Moon; A Workshop for Movement & Rest
Join Hanna and Julie for a slow and nourishing evening practice. Unwind has been a quarterly offering to work with the energy of the new moon, but March 28 is a special full moon edition!
Each phase of the moon's cycle carries its own distinct luminous energy. The full moon is the brightest phase in the cycle and can serve as a powerful place to reflect and set things into motion. While the new moon is a place to rest and explore in the shadows, the light of the full moon asks us to be in relationship to what is being revealed. Often full moon practices are big and energized, however, this workshop will still work with slow and intentional movement and integrative rest. The format will be the same as we embrace this time of light, and work with the parts and versions of ourselves that step into the light. It’s through this time of revelation that provides insight for what direction we’re moving, and what steps to take to get there. All while settling deeper into ourselves and prepare to flow - with the cycles of the moon - back toward a stiller and darker phase. Expect some gentle and alignment-based movement (asana) with Hanna, guided meditation and breathwork (pranayama) with Julie, and we'll end with rest accompanied by a healing crystal bowl sound bath. All levels are welcome, props and pose modifications will be offered and available. You may want to bring a pillow :) Hanna Bio: Hanna has been teaching Hatha yoga since 2009, and is an E-RYT 500 level teacher. Yoga started as a fun thing to do with her mom, but quickly gained momentum and turned into a deep passion and healing modality for her. Hanna is most passionate about using yoga to create and cultivate sustainable mobility and longevity of safe and strong movement. She's dedicated to making yoga accessible through creative sequencing, detailed alignment, and anatomical knowledge. These days, she's most interested in participation over perfection, and helping others develop a self-aware practice that aligns with their unique interests and goals. Julie Bio: Julie began sharing her love and reverence for the healing arts in 2004. She began her journey as a massage therapist, which quickly led her to study various modalities. In 2010, Julie completed her first Hatha yoga teacher training with Ruth (Sraddhasagar) Hartung and teachings from Rama Jyoti Vernon, which awakened a deeper quest within her to continue seeking and sharing a greater awareness of how truly remarkable the entirety of our beings is. Empowered by a drive to support those on inner self-healing journeys, Julie began her journey into Shamanism and has been practicing since 2012. Julie loves to bring community together through connection. Whether it's in practice, play, or over sacred brew, she loves to celebrate each being in all that they are, have been, and are yet to be. |
