Through this training, you'll learn how to create a welcoming environment while offering practical tools for adapting your teaching style to meet the unique needs of students living in a bigger body. What you'll learn/gain: Effective Cueing for All Bodies: How to refine your language and cues to ensure clarity, accessibility, and comfort for students with bigger bodies. You’ll explore verbal cues that guide alignment, support mobility, and avoid any language that may unintentionally alienate or discourage. Prop use to Empower Students: Discover how to incorporate props like blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets to make poses more accessible and comfortable, enhancing stability and confidence in each practice. Learn creative ways to use props to vary poses to allow for greater freedom of movement. Build Confidence in Your Teaching: Learn how to create an inclusive, non-judgmental space where students feel safe to explore and honor their bodies. You'll gain tools to encourage body awareness, self-compassion, and personal empowerment. You’ll be equipped to offer variations that enhance mobility, strength, and flexibility without forcing a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you're a seasoned teacher or new to yoga instruction, this training will help you deepen your ability to meet the needs of all students, creating a more inclusive and supportive practice environment for everyone. Join us in this transformative journey of teaching with care, awareness, and compassion for all body types. Please bring a notebook, pen and an open mind. About Ashley:
Ashley Campise (E-RYT 500) is a dedicated student and practitioner of yoga first and foremost. This fuels her passion for teaching. She started practicing asana in 2012 at a carpeted studio in St. Louis, MO. Ashley completed her 200 hour training in 2016 with BlueBird and Southtown Yoga in St. Louis, MO where she was born and raised and currently resides and her 300 hour training in 2020 with Yoga Oasis in Tucson, AZ. Ashley has been teaching yoga since 2016. She teaches classes, workshops, and teacher trainings both locally and nationally. Her gusto for these practices (and life in general) is undeniable and you’ll see that in her offerings. Ashley's mission is to get these practices off the mat (or cushion) and into the world. There's something really profound that happens when a person can bring these practices into their day to day activities. Off the mat you can find her traveling with her husband, Steve. It is a goal of theirs to see every National Park in America! Ashley enjoys hiking, playing with her pups Sunny and Moose, going to concerts, and being in nature. |
