About
About Restorative Yoga @ Home~

You are being invited to cultivate a restorative yoga practice in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Restore (verb):

: GIVE BACK, RETURN
: to bring back to or put back into a former or original state: RENEW

Restorative yoga is a quiet, receptive practice that uses props to support the body in the shape of a pose in order to facilitate deep relaxation.
Deep relaxation allows for the muscles to release, the mind to rest, and the nervous system to settle and right itself. This practice has a multitude of benefits that include the reduction of blood pressure, improved digestion and fertility, reduced muscle tension, insomnia, and generalized fatigue.

Keep in mind that just like any other practice you take on, it takes time to learn how to relax. Now is your chance to do just that: rest, relax and restore your energy, mental clarity, and your steady sense of self.

Please have an assortment of props on hand:
  • 2 standard size pillows (or a Bolster)
  • 2 yoga blocks
  • 4 yoga blankets (or 2 blankets and 2 throw pillows)
  • 1 strap
  • 1 eye cover

If you are able to invest in a few yoga props such as a rectangular bolster, yoga blocks, and a few yoga blankets, I highly recommend that you do so. You will be glad to have some props at home so that you have what you need to keep your practice going.

Marcia Tullous has been teaching yoga for over a decade. She is a certified Relax and Renew teacher and thoroughly enjoys sharing the practice of Restorative Yoga with all who want to learn this quiet, more passive type of practice. Marcia is known for her warm, welcoming presence and teaching style..
