The Shape of What is Holy: Asana with Christina Sell
"You don't have to force yourself into a shape you think is holy. You just sing and when you realize you've stopped paying attention to the chant, bring yourself back. Again and again. That's it. That is the practice."- Krishna Das In the asana practice, we use the shape-making process as means of cultivating strength, flexibility, and self-awareness. Rather than forcing ourselves into a shape in order to make ourselves feel or seem more holy, asana can be a means of mindful self-exploration, and a means to return to our already present state of wholeness. Enjoy this 2-hour class with Christina Sell and the Yoga Oasis community. Make shapes. Laugh, work, and invoke what is holy within you. It will be great. Expect demonstrations, explanations, bad jokes, and inspirational pep talks along the way. Christina Sell has been practicing yoga since 1991 and teaching since 1998. She lives in Bellingham, WA with her husband and the world's best dog, Locket. |
