About:
The day-to-day activities that most people do on a regular basis—scrolling/texting/reading on the phone, sitting at a desk, using a computer, driving in the car—all have one thing in common: the rounded-back, head-forward, front-body-closed posture. After a while, this can cause discomfort, imbalance(s), pain, and rigidity in different parts of the body. Using functional movement techniques, mobility and strengthening exercises, and yoga poses, we will “reset” our posture and become more aware of the way we hold our body, as well as our movement patterns. After the 3-week series, you’ll have access to a 20-minute video with a short sequence you can do at home, as well as other tips you can incorporate into your daily routine, to continue improving your posture. Recordings of the classes are available if you can’t make all four sessions in person. About Jenn:
Jenn Bemis has over 900 hours of training in several different schools of yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha, Anusara, and yoga therapeutics (500RYT), and has been teaching since 2009. Jenn’s classes are infused with precise and detailed alignment cues, while keeping the fluid Vinyasa form of breath and movement within creative, mindful, and intentional sequences. |
