Therapeutic Techniques for Self-Care
With Laura Shriver and guest Alden Carroll
Join Laura Shriver and special guest Alden Carroll for a day of mindfulness, breathwork, grounding techniques, self-myofascial release (SMR) and trigger point therapy, mobility work, and anatomy and kinesiology as it relates to the practice of yoga.
In this workshop you will use a multitude of therapeutic techniques to cultivate an understanding of your body and nervous system. The aim of this workshop is to provide resources to create a personal map of oneself that includes the nervous system, and the fascial system. This will result in a more complete understanding of different ways that one can connect to, work with, and support their whole body.

Laura Shriver, LMT, 500RYT, has been teaching since 2008, and started her yoga journey in her early twenties. She found Yoga Oasis shortly thereafter and found her forever teachers, Darren Rhodes and Christina Sell, and her forever home, Yoga Oasis. Laura's classes are individualized and co-created so every person in attendance can receive personalized care and support. She melds together her accumulated knowledge from her yoga practice and lineage with her knowledge of working with people one-on-one in a therapeutic capacity. Her classes include self-myofascial release techniques, an emphasis on functional movement, mobility work and kinesiological awareness as it relates to each person in traditional yoga postures.
