The Yoga of Parenting - 3-session Series
With Lynette Maya and Jenn Bemis
|
About The Yoga of Parenting The practice of yoga can be a gateway to cultivating awareness—of oneself, one’s tendencies in the mind, body, and heart—and offers us teachings that we can apply both on and off the mat. Much like all other aspects of life and roles we take on, parenthood is an opportunity to bring the practice of yoga into our lives, off of the mat. This workshop is an exploration into how we can gracefully integrate and meld the practice of yoga into the practice of parenthood. Take a parenting pause, move your body and mind into alignment with the joys of parenting. Fill your cup so that you can return to the practice of parenting, fully resourced. Each session will include 45 minutes of gentle yoga led by Jenn, followed by 30 minutes of guided contemplations of the following topics by Lynette, as well as discussion and optional group sharing: Session 1 | Parenting pause: Orientation - Ushering attention to the present moment Session 2 | Growing our capacities: Orientation to pleasure - Building positive associations Session 3 | Being in resource: Compassion is a compass About Lynette Maya: Social Emotional Specialist, Certified Organic Intelligence Coach, Teach Through Love Parent Coach, Social Emotional Curriculum Developer, Changemaker Art Educator About Jenn Bemis: Jenn Bemis has over 900 hours of training in several different schools of yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha, Anusara, and yoga therapeutics (500RYT), and has been teaching since 2009.
